Keeneland *36

Part of my ongoing *36 project. Keeneland Race Course was established in 1936, and is considered an “oasis” in the thoroughbred racing world because of its timeless setting. This gate post that says “K A” was actually rescued from the defunct Kentucky Association racetrack. Thus, the Keeneland Association was born.

Taken on a ca. 1936 Voigtlander Bessa (Anastignat Voigtar 4.5,11 cm lens) on Efke R100 film. The Efke film is based on 1940’s emulsions and was developed in Ilford ID-11 1+1 developer, a clone of Kodak D-76, a formula from the 1920’s.
